I started at Tegel in 2013 as a temporary worker in chicken processing (CP). After becoming permanent, I worked my way through a range of floor roles before becoming a Team Coordinator. In 2016, I joined the CP planning team, which opened my eyes to how the wider business operates. That step really deepened my understanding of the business.

From there, I moved into the Distribution Centre in 2018, starting as an Inventory Coordinator for offsite storage. Not long after, I stepped into the Inventory Controller role, looking after stock across both the Henderson and offsite warehouses. Since 2022, I’ve been the Warehouse Manager at Henderson Valley Dry Stores.

My days are always varied. I manage supplier relationships, ensure stock arrives on time, liaising with production to keep everything running smoothly. I also make time to support my team on the warehouse floor. There’s a lot of strategic planning involved from juggling internal demands, external suppliers, timelines, production schedules and inventory constraints, all while making sure our warehouse operates efficiently.

Over the years, I’ve developed stronger leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. I believe in leading the way I’d like to be led, with clarity, fairness, and mutual respect.

What keeps me motivated is the team. Their dedication is inspiring. Tegel has supported my growth from the floor to management, and for anyone considering a role here, I’d say give it a go. There’s opportunity here for everyone.
