Method:
1. Heat a splash of oil to a large frying pan on a medium-high heat. Add the onions and season with salt. Cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened and lightly charred. Remove from heat and set aside
2. While the onion cooks, prepare the chicken. Add the Tegel Shredded Flame Grilled Style Chicken to a medium sized bowl along with 2 tablespoons of the barbeque sauce. Season with salt and pepper and toss to coat the chicken.
3. Butter one side of each slice of sourdough. Place the four slices of sourdough onto a chopping board, buttered side down, and spread over the remaining barbeque sauce.
4. Evenly divide the chicken mixture over the top, then add the cheese slices and the caramelised onions. Sandwich the remaining slices of sourdough on top, butter side up.
5.Toast the sandwiches in a toasted sandwich press, until golden on the outside and melted on the inside.
6. Serve with crinkle cut pickles if desired.
